Music on the border of the great ages

At the turn of two centuries, the 19th and 20th centuries, the world of classical music filled with such a variety of directions, from which its magnificence was filled with new sounds and meanings. New names develop their own, unique styles in compositions.

Schoenberg's early impressionism is built on dodecaphony, which, in the future, will mark the beginning of the Second Vienna School, and this will significantly affect the development of all classical music of the 20th century.

Among the prominent representatives of the 20th century, along with Schoenberg, is the futurism of young Prokofiev, Mosolov and Anteil, the neo-classicism of Stravinsky and the social realism of the already more mature Prokofiev and Glier. It should be remembered, and Schaeffer, Stockhausen, Bulez, as well as an absolutely unique and bright Messiaen.

Music genres are mixed, merged with each other, new styles appear, musical instruments are added, cinema enters the world, and music flows into the cinema. In this niche, new composers appear, focused specifically on compositions of musical works for the cinema. And those brilliant works created for this trend, rightfully stand in the same row among the brightest works of musical art.

The mid-20th century is marked by a new trend in foreign music - more and more often in solo musicians use the trumpet. This tool is becoming so popular that there are new schools for trumpet performers.

Naturally, such a rapid flowering of classical music cannot be separated from the saturated political and economic events, revolutions and crises of the 20th century. All these social disasters responded to the works of the classics. Many of the composers were in concentration camps, others were in a very rigid framework of orders, which also affected the idea of the works. Among the emerging fashion trends in the classical music environment, we should recall composers who made stunning modern arrangements of famous works. Everyone still knows and loves these divinely sounding works by Paul Mauriat, performed by his grand orchestra.

What transformed classical music has received a new name - academic music. Today, different trends also influence modern academic music. Its boundaries have long been blurred, although someone may not agree with this.
