Types of guitar fights, or how to play a beautiful accompaniment?

Beginning guitarists, having heard a new song, often ask themselves: what sort of accompaniment is played? Or what better way to play a song, if we are talking about the arrangement for one guitar?

Definitely not answer these questions. To a large extent, the choice will depend on the artistic taste and individual style of the artist. Options for this method of sound great variety.

A guitar player should regularly replenish his musical arsenal with various types of enumeration. The more of them the performer, the better, the more beautiful and more original the chords of the song will sound. In addition, the means of expressiveness are greatly expanded for a more subtle transfer of mood and emotions to the listener.

For example, the great Italian guitarist M. Giuliani at one time developed 120 battles. They are presented as separate exercises and are divided into 10 separate groups. These achievements of the great master undoubtedly deserve praise and seem to be fruitful ground for cultivating their ideas.

A bit of theory before class.

What is brute force from the point of view of musical theory? This arpeggio is an alternate extraction of chord sounds: from the lowest note to the highest (up) and vice versa (down). Chord sounds can vary in their sequence.

In this article, the most common and simple types of arpeggios used in guitar accompaniment will be considered.

In exercises, an arpeggio stands next to each note, which indicates which finger of the right hand should be used to remove the note. With the whole scheme can be found in the figure with a hand.

To quickly remember the correspondence of Latin letters to each finger, you need to conditionally combine them into one word. pimac and as if to spell out letter by letter, mentally turning over the fingers, starting from the big one.

In some exercises, there are chords with complex alphanumeric designations - do not pay attention, if they are difficult to understand, you can return to this topic later, now the main task is to master the types of search. All chords are simple to perform and are not particularly difficult.

Types of guitar fights (arpeggios)

A simple search of 3 sounds.

In this type of arpeggio, only three strings are involved. First you need to analyze what note, what finger to play. You need to strictly adhere to the right hand fingering. First, the search is performed on open strings, it allows you to concentrate more on honing the technique. Feeling confident, you can already play this chord sequence.

Do not forget about the reprise - repeat 1 and 2 bars, 3 and 4, 5 and 6. In the guitar nets, the right hand fingering is indicated.

A simple search of 4 sounds.

It is played very simply - the bass string, and alternate shuffling of the strings, starting from the third to the first and back. This type of arpeggio, despite all the triviality, can sound quite impressive. A striking example is the accompaniment in the second verse of Harry Moore's beautiful blues ballad - still got the blues. Watch the video with this music:

Having mastered the open strings, you can start playing chords:

Two small exercises in C major and A minor

Bust on remote strings

Mastering this type of arpeggio may seem incredibly difficult at first. Although a detailed examination of anything in it is not super complicated. The first four sounds of this enumeration are nothing more than the enumeration examined in the first exercise, then there is a picking on the first string, and again 3.2 and again 3 strings. To play this arpeggio, you need to start at a very slow tempo, controlling the order in which the sounds are extracted by the corresponding fingers.

Bust with simultaneous pinching of 3 strings in a waltz tempo

Fingers i, m, a, as if pre-laid for the strings, in this correspondence i -3, m -2, a -1 (but the sound is not yet extracted). Then hit the bass string and simultaneously pinching it with three fingers. Rhythmically to the score - one, two, three - one, two, three - and so on.

Notice how the bass string changes alternately in each measure, imitating the bass line:

Bust with simultaneous pinching 2 strings at a pace 2/4

This type of arpeggio is very often used in classic romances. At the same time, 2 and 1 strings are tweaked. As you can see, often the types of searches and their choice depends on which genre a particular song belongs to. Something about genres can be read here - “The main musical genres“. But the variant of this search in la minor:

With an increase in the performing experience, clear lines in the concept of “type of enumeration” are erased, each chord in a song can be emphasized by different strokes. Arpeggios can be stretched for several bars and rhythmically transformed, expressing the nature of the topic.

Arpeggio exercises do not need to be played mechanically and meaninglessly. At a slow pace, keeping the size evenly - first on open strings and then with chords. The sequences in the exercises are just examples, arpeggios can be played arbitrarily, in harmony you like.

Classes should not tire. If tiredness is felt, and more and more mistakes are allowed, it will be wiser to rest for a while and start practicing again. If you are completely new to playing guitar, then read this - "Exercises for beginner guitarists"
