Why do we need rhythmics in music school?

Today's students of music schools, especially primary schools, are heavily loaded with various extra classes and circles. Parents, wanting to facilitate their child's school in children's music school, try to connect some educational disciplines or replace one with another. The rhythm at the music school is often underestimated by them.

Why not replace the rhythm of another object?

Why it is impossible to replace this subject with choreography, aerobics or gymnastics? The answer gives the original name - rhythmic solfeggio.

At the lessons of gymnastics and choreography, students master the plasticity of their body. The discipline of rhythm reveals the greater potential of the student, gives him a wide scope of knowledge necessary for the young musician.

Opening a lesson by warm-up, the teacher gradually immerses students in the theory and practice of various types of musical activity.

What does rhythmic solfege give?

Rhythm for children has become a kind of help in solving problems associated with the main theoretical discipline - solfege. It is because of the complexity of this subject that children often drop out of school, and music education remains unfinished. In the classroom rhythm students sharpen their rhythmic inclinations, learn to coordinate the various movements of their body. After all, the feeling of the metro rhythm is extremely important when playing each musical instrument (vocal is no exception)!

Such a concept as "duration" (duration of musical sound) is much better and faster absorbed through body movements. A variety of coordination tasks help in the realization of the simultaneous movement of different durations, which very often occurs in music.

The ability to stop in time, seeing a pause in the notes, in time to begin the performance of a musical work from the introductory part and much more, the students fix on rhythm lessons.

As the practice of music schools shows, children with a problematic sense of rhythm can march to the beat after a year, and after two years of classes they simultaneously conduct with one hand, show phrases / sentences with the other and perform the rhythm of the melody with their feet!

Studying the forms of musical works in the rhythm lessons

For children, rhythmics, or rather her lessons, usually become not only an exciting activity, but also a kind of piggy bank of knowledge and skills. The point is this: students start working with the form of small plays from the first lessons of rhythmic solfeggio. To hear, define and correctly reproduce phrases, sentences, feel the period - all this is very important for any musician-performer.

Elements of musical literature on rhythm

During classes, the children's piggy bank of knowledge is replenished with musical literature, in other words, the volume of music that they remember for a lifetime is gradually increasing. Students learn composers and memorize their work by repeating the same musical material in the classroom several times, but with different tasks. In addition, they learn to talk about music, about character, genres, styles, to hear its special expressive means. Connecting their imagination, children show the soul of a piece of music, passing it through their body. All this unusually expands the intellectual horizons and then will come in handy in further education in the music school.

Work on the specialty lessons is individual. In group classes, some children close, not even admitting a teacher. And only the rhythm in the music school is conducted in a less formal setting and therefore is able to liberate students, helping to join a new group for them. It’s not for nothing that these lessons fill out a cell in the timetable exactly in the first two years of study.
